Cause Of Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis may affect people of all ages. It is an inflammation of the tough, fibrous band of tissue (plantar fascia) that runs from the heel bone to the base of the toes. Plantar fascia is elastic in nature; it stretches and contracts with movement. In addition, a significant amount of shock and pressure from physical activities such as running and jumping or long hours of standing and walking are all routinely absorbed by the plantar fascia. The overload of such activities leads to the development of tear in the fascia, causing pain and inflammation.

There are many causes of plantar fasciitis. The structure of the feet or the abnormalities in the biomechanics of the feet may many times lead to plantar fasciitis. Having flat feet or a high arch, or walking in a way that does not allow the weight to ideally switch between the feet puts lots of pressure on the plantar fascia, forcing it to stretch considerably and develop a tear in the process.

The other prominent reason for the occurrence of plantar fasciitis is the use of shoes that fit badly or shoes that have poor cushioning and support at the heel, arch and the ball of the foot. Improper shoes lead to uneven distribution of body weight on the feet while walking or exercising. As a result, undue pressure is exerted on the plantar fascia leading to plantar fasciitis.

As a person gets older, the plantar fascia becomes less elastic and the tissue does not stretch as much as it should. The thinning of the fat pad exposes the heel to extra shock while walking or standing. This damages the plantar, fascia resulting in swelling and acute pain.

Running on hard, uneven surfaces, running on the balls of the feet, unusual rigidity in the feet, family history of plantar fasciitis, or substantial weight gain in a short period of time can all lead to the problem of plantar fasciitis.

Effective Closet Cleaning Tips - Let Go of More Than Skeletons

I know I have a problem when I have to battle with the overflow every time I try to shut my closet door. Well, okay, it’s not really a closet, more like an overgrown cupboard, but as it’s all I have something’s got to give. When it comes to clothes and shoes, I’m the worst. Perhaps it’s the result of coming of age in the last two decades of the century - living through wave after wave of recycled fashions. After all, aren’t asymmetrical tops back in?

I have an established routine for weeding out my closet:

Step One: Take everything (and I mean everything) out and lay them in loosely organized categories, such as shorts, pants, T-shirts, blouses, etc.

Step Two: Pass through each category using the golden rule “If you haven’t worn it in a year, put it in the discard pile.” Then pass through and sort out the deduplications. After all, how many pairs of denim short shorts do you really need?

Step Three: Clean the closet/overgrown cupboard. Remember, dust bunnies don’t have feelings or sentimental value; it’s okay to throw them away.

Step Four: Try on each and every item. If it’s more than a tiny bit too tight or smidge too big, put it in the discard pile. No exceptions!

Step Five: Plan your closet! Don’t just put everything back in willy-nilly; make a mental plan, think about the seasons, and organize!

Step Six: Shoes - Okay, so I like to give Imelda Marcos a run for her money, but shoes are hard to store, so some just have to go. First, make sure that each and every pair will go with at least three items of clothing; if they don’t, discard. Second, if they are sadly out of date, discard. Third, try them all on and walk around the house in them. If they hurt your feet, discard. Finally, get a good shoe rack; if you have more shoes than room in the rack, repeat steps 1-3 until each shoe has a home.

Now you should have a big pile of discards in the living room. I have a two-step clothes dispersal process that works well for me. First step is getting together with all my girlfriends of approximately the same size and have a discard party. What’s old and tired to you may be just the thing your pal has been searching for. A few munchies, several bottles of wine and you’ll have a great time trading your old gear for something that’s new to you. If you don’t have girlfriends that are your size or your friends are fashion-challenged, you can always find folks to trade with online. There are plenty of fashionistas trading at SwapThing. However, always keep in mind your space limitations and only trade for a few things that really add some zing to your wardrobe! The second step is to gather all the discards at the end of your soiree and donate them to a local women’s shelter. If you don’t know any local organizations try doing a search in your area through the ShareThing program at SwapThing. Your old stuff can be a wonderful gift to a fellow female who has nothing to call her own. Good luck and get cleaning!

http://www.SwapThing.com is a site focused on building a strong swap community online. The ShareThing program helps non-profits get access to item & cash donations as well as volunteers and professional services.

How Golf Club Comparisons Can Help You Find The Best Equipment

Do you want to know how to get the best fitting golf equipment? Golf club comparisons are the answer. You will have to try some different types of equipment to find your perfect match.

It’s these golf club comparisons that are essential to getting you fitted with the proper gear. Look below to get some great tips for comparing and testing different golf clubs.

1. Look around at your local golf store, driving range or golf course and find a few sets or clubs that are within your budget and price range. Don’t be afraid to compare prices.

2. Make sure you like the exterior look of the golf clubs. Check the color, design, and overall aesthetics of the club. It’s very important for your comfort level.

3. At the store or pro shop compare the way some different clubs look and feel in the address position. Set the clubs on the ground and get set up like you are going to hit a shot. Look down the shaft and make sure the club is sitting in a good position that you are comfortable with. You are also looking to see if the shaft is ahead of the ball(also known as offset), if the club sits flat on the ground, is it fat, thin, big, small etc. You must check for all these features with every club.

4. Find an area where you can swing the clubs freely (driving net or outside). You are going to check the weight of the clubs. Swing the different clubs to see if the club is heavy or light. Also try to feel if the weight is in the head or shaft of the club. This will have an affect on your swing speed.

5. Now you are going to hit some shots outside. You want to check the way the ball flies off the club face. Is it high and floating, low and penetrating, hooking left, or slicing right? Find a ball flight you like because every club is different. Also what feeling do you get from each club? Is it nice or does it hurt your hand?

After doing these golf club comparisons and trying all these different tips and helpful ideas you should be able to narrow it down to the club or set of clubs you like the best.

If you still can’t make up your mind, try playing with the clubs for a round of golf to help you make that final decision. Good luck and enjoy doing your golf club comparisons!
